Certification
What a pass certifies — and what it does not
A certificate is only worth something if the thing it certifies is precisely defined. Most trust badges on the web certify that somebody paid for a badge. Here is exactly what ours means.

PASS · 91
A pass comes with an embeddable badge that links to the public checksheet — not a static image. Anyone can click through and read every result, including the advisories. A badge that cannot be verified is decoration.
What a pass certifies
- Every critical and major criterion in the standard was met on the inspection date.
- The overall weighted score was 75 or above.
- The full checksheet, including passing items, is published at a permanent verification URL.
- Any advisories recorded are listed on the certificate — a pass is not the same as a perfect score.
What it does not
- Guarantee any ranking, traffic level or revenue outcome. Nothing can.
- Certify content quality, brand strength, or that your commercial strategy is sound.
- Remain valid if the site changes. A deploy the next day can introduce a critical fault.
- Imply endorsement by Google or any search engine. SEOWof is independent and unaffiliated.
The 28-day recheck
Borrowed directly from the New Zealand vehicle WOF, where an inspecting organisation cannot charge for a re-inspection within 28 days of a fail. The rule exists there for the same reason we adopted it: an inspector who profits from re-inspections has an incentive to fail you.
- 01
Inspection
Day 0
Full checksheet issued with a determination and a scoped work queue.
- 02
Remediation
Days 1–27
You, your developer, or a matched specialist works the queue.
- 03
Recheck
By day 28
We re-run only the checks that failed. No charge, no limit on attempts.
- 04
Certification
On clear
Certificate issued, valid 180 days, with a public verification URL.
After 28 days a full re-inspection is required rather than a recheck, because too much can have changed for a partial re-run to be honest. This is the same rule the vehicle system applies, and for the same reason.
